Yesterday I had a portrait session with John Baker, the architect behind the Carbondale Recreation and Community Center in Carbondale, Colorado. Baker is being featured in Mountain House & Home Magazine for his “LEED” green accomplishments in the rec. center’s design. After completing the application for the USGBC (United States Green Building Council), this structure has enough points to obtain LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) platinum status. This is the highest level of LEED status a building can receive. This is not easy or cheap, it’s also the reason John is sitting on recycled furniture! I love it! Hats off to John, his team, and the town of Carbondale for setting the pace for future design.

This is my favorite image from our session.
